To ensure the work of the Human Resources department managed efficiently and effectively in line with an established guidelines. Under the leadership of the Human Resources Responsible, the HR Assistant needs to be an enthusiastic, flexible, committed, punctual, accurate and a resourceful colleague who can support the manager with specific administrative files. The successful candidate will need to deliver to a high standard, be resilient and have a positive “can do” attitude.
The HR unit in the ICRC provides services to all employees. Its main aim is to partnership with the management team to react efficiently to the institutional and the employees’ human resources needs.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will undertake the following responsibilities under the leadership of the Human Resources Responsible in Baghdad by:
Organize archival records and develop classification systems to facilitate access to archival employment records;
Provides general secretarial and administrative support (updating staff files and contracts, handling correspondence, registration and filing, etc.);
Provides administrative follow-up for recruitment and training activities;
Ensures that information on HR issues under their responsibility is shared within the rest of the delegation (or mission, etc.);
Keeps records (e.g. absences) and ensures that HR data is of good quality and kept up to date, particularly regarding salary;
Carries out procedures related to local HR practice, taxes and social security;
May assist local or regional learning and development staff with administrative work.
Scope & Impact:
Geographical remit: Delegation position.
Internally, interacts with delegation employees.
Externally, may interact with local administrative authorities.
Certification & Education required:
University Graduate. (Preferably English)
Very Good command (written and spoken) of English.
Professional experience required:
Two or three years of professional experience in a related field of activity.
Computer literate, with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Accountable, punctual and a very organized person.
Follows all relevant procedures, processes, and policies.
Meets deadline, cost, and quality requirements for outputs.
Capacity to work independently and with a team.
Very Good analytical skills.
Ability to efficiently handle work stress.
Has the ability to represent the ICRC.
